Ahmadinejad: WMDs against Islam....

Oh, shucks....and here the neocon statists of the left and right (Read: Obama, Romney, Santorum, Liberman, McCain, Lindsey Graham, insert Dispensationalist Christian Name Here), are just chomping at the bit to find an excuse to go to war with Iran.

And here Ahmadinejad spells it out explicitly:

"Islam forbids atomic weapons and other arms of mass destruction, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad insisted on Wednesday ahead of his country's nuclear talks with world powers in Baghdad."

Now if Gary Bauer can only figure this out there is no need for pre-emptive war with Iran costing trillions, of treasure and thousands if not hundreds of thousands lives.   Iran is about as much of  a threat as Iraq was.

This might come as a surprise to the likes of Gary Bauer.

Neocons winning the hearts and minds of Afghanis

But its all for the protection and support of Israel, right?  Does anyone think that Israel is safer, and the US's national security interest in the regions are served due to our latest actions in Afghanistan?

The GOP is the stupid party:

Afghan deaths call for US exit

Can you say $4Trillion wasted?

McCain wants to bomb-bomb-bomb, bomb-bom Syria

Can anyone say, arab spring.  How are the other foreign interventions working out?

Afghan War going Badly

Michael Yon says its time to throw in the towel.  Will neocons like Hughie Hewitt or Gary Bauer agree?

In a post entitled "Time to Leave Afghanistan", he writes:

This war is going to turn out badly. We are wasting lives and resources while the United States decays and other threats emerge.  We led the horse to water.

Importantly, there is no value in pretending that Pakistan is an ally. We should wish the best of luck to the Afghans, and the many peaceful Pakistanis, and accelerate our withdrawal of our main battle force. The US never has been serious about Afghanistan. Under General Petraeus we were starting to gain ground, but the current trajectory will land us in the mud.

The enemies will never beat us in Afghanistan.  Force on force, the Taliban are weak by comparison.  Yet this is their home.  There is only so much we can do at this extreme cost for the many good Afghan people.  We must reduce our main effort and concentrate on other matters.  Time to come home.

Sincerely,

Michael Yon

Is Israel and War More important than social values to Evangelicals?

Excellent article over at the American Conservative.  Asks many important questions.

I'd like to see neocons like Gary Bauer, and Hughie Hewitt answer them:

http://www.theamericanconservative.com/blog/2012/01/20/evangelicals-ron-paul-and-war/

For Christians like Gary Bauer, it appears so.  His "ministry" is to work for CUFI (Christians United For Israel).
The irony of wanting to see Jews gather back in Israel is so they can usher in the next phase of God's plan.
Sacrifices will start up once again (an abomination to God who put an end once for all to sacrifices with Christ).....
and Christians will be raptured (a doctrine found nowhere in the Bible).....all will be good.

Except for those pesky Jews who gathered back in Israel promoted by the culture of life Christians like Gary Bauer:.  For them its curtains, 2/3rds will be wiped out.   Of course Gary Bauer would say his glass is 1/3rd full....1/3rd will be saved:

Zechariah 13:8-9

8 In the whole land,” declares the LORD,
   “two-thirds will be struck down and perish;
yet one-third will be left in it.
9 This third I will put into the fire;
I will refine them like silver
   and test them like gold.
They will call on my name
   and I will answer them;
I will say, ‘They are my people,’
and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God.’”

Of course, I don't believe in dispensationalism.   In fact, I believe God put the Dome of the Rock on top of the temple site to seal the fact that the temple will never be rebuilt and sacrifices never reestablished..  (The bible incidentally never speaks of a 3rd temple).

Why do Christians like Santorum want War in Iran?

"War is a racket. It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small 'inside' group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes."

                                                                       -Major General Smedley Butler

I have been reflecting upon pro-life Christians like Gary Bauer this sabbath, who do not support the most peace loving, anti-war candidate, Ron Paul, but instead endorse warmongers like Rick Santorum.   At the Christian bookstore, I perused a book written by David Jeremiah who thinks the US should "bless" Israel by having the US army intervene militarily.   He has a chapter in the book entitled that he is shocked that we would abandon Israel....as though not intervening on Israel's behalf is abandoning her.  I come away disgusted at what passes for Christianity.....Some thoughts:

1)   The nation of Israel (ethnic Israel) is not True Israel.   True Israel is made up of followers of Christ.  Romans 9:6-8, Gal 3:29
2)    There are No false divisions within Abraham seed: " neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." See Col 3:11, Gal 3:28
3)   Gentiles are being grafted into True Israel..  Romans 11:17-19.  The church has always been those who lived by faith, keeping God's covenants. (Is 56:3,6-7, Romans 2:28-29).  The church of believers is the bride of Christ.  There is only one bride.  Israel is a type, a foreshadow of God's plan which has greater fulfillment and meaning with expanded land boundaries to the entire world.  (Hebrews 10, Matthew 28:18-20)
4)  Therefore true Israel is the Church, consisting of both Jews (primarily in the 1st century), and later Gentiles as they were grafted in.  Today, True Israel consists mostly of Gentiles, but Jews continue to be converted.  See Romans 9:6-8, Phil 3:3

There is no plan A for Christians and Plan B for Jews.   There are no false divisions created by dispensational theology (Eph 2:11-16)   There was only plan A that began with Jews, and was fulfilled (land promises, and making descendents of Abraham as numerous as the stars were fulfilled in particular).  But the promises of the Old Covenant has greater meaning and fulfillment with Christ. (Hebrews 10:1).  The new land promises extend far beyond the boundaries of Palestine.  The shadow of the land promises of Palestine have become the reality: the world (John 3:16, Matthew 28:18-20).

So why again do evangelicals want to use the US military to protect Israel?  To usher in the millenium by US military force?   Didn't Jesus repudiate such thinking?  See Matthew 26:52-54

Gentlemen, the following link shows some of the inevitable consequences of war.  Don't be so damned naive.  War is wicked and dehumanizes human beings, destroys property and lives, uproots families, and leaves children fatherless,  and destroys man's moral sensibilities.  Our armed forces come home confused, and suicidal:

We lose far more lives to heart disease, or cancer, or just falling down than terrorism.  1 in 5 will die of heart disease.  1 in 7 will die of cancer.  1 in 23 will die of a stroke, 1 in 36 of an accidental injury.  1 in 100 will die in a car accident.  Comparatively, Reason Magazine reports your odds of dying in a terrorist attack at 1 in 1.7million. If 9-11 occurred every year, then it would be 1 in 100,000.  Over your entire life of 9-11 annual attacks, the odds would be 1 in 1300......you are still far more likely to die from a car accident.

Is it worth all the moral ambiguities and the 2+ trillion to fight these wars on faulty premises?

When will Christians wake up and realize that war is not the lesser evil....its is the greater evil.  It enlarges the state as God.  It destroys liberty.  There is nothing good.

Blessed are the peacemakers, not the warmongers.

Update: Neoconservative Jewish Media advocates assassination of Obama.

So this is what passes for neoconservatism these days.    Israel must be protected at all cost....including the assassination of a sitting US president.

Rush Limbaugh: Big Fat Government Establishment Neoconservative

I was reading this post over at Lew Rockwell today, and except for the age discrepency (the author has about 7 years on me) and his locale (he is in Alabama), I almost  could have easily wrote it:

Its worth the read:

I voted for George Bush on the 1st go around simply because he promised a modest foreign policy.  I was foolish enough to support him in going to war with Iraq.   But I did have serious reservations....I told my liberal and conservative friends, if there are no WMDs, I am done with the republican party.  Of course, there were none.  I subsequently stopped identifying myself as a republican.  I only remain a registered republican so I can vote for Ron Paul.

El Bloviator's 96% accuracy rating, I think really runs about 60% and is shrinking daily.  And since he is routinely trashing Ron Paul, the only limited government candidate out there, Rush, IMO has lost all sensibility.   I suspect Rush will alienate and start losing up to 20% of his audience who truly believes in LIMITED government and are Ron Paul supporters.  I no longer desire to listen to him.  He trashes GOP insiders, yet considers Newt Gingrich, of all people, an outsider?  Huh?  Really?   Former speaker Gingrich is an outsider?  And a conservative?  ..... I am seeing no difference between Rush and the GOP establishment, except a shift in time.  One supports the warfare and politically expedient Big Government.  The other supports the poltically expedient, warfare state Big Government.  I would be interested in hearing how he actually thinks he differs from the establishment.....because he did at one time support Mittens Romney....who is now the establishment's pick....the order of things have only reversed?

Over this election cycle, Rush appears to me more and more like a dittohead of Mark Levin.  These are shells of true conservatives.  And since Rush is attacking Ron Paul on his radio program daily, I suspect people like the author of the linked article will listen less and less.    I have vowed to turn Rush off completely.  Rush, his dittoheads, and Levin's trashing of Ron Paul is causing a fracture in the republican party that will never be repaired.    Being fed on the nipple of the doctrine of limited government, we have "graduated" to the conclusion that the government is no more competent at managing foreign affairs as it is at managing domestic affairs.

Rush and Levin are supporters of the warfare state....has anyone noticed power centralizing more and more in the excectuve branch to the point we now have a king?, and less and less held with Congress, or the Senate?  Has anyone seen our liberties defiled every time one walks through airport security,  or watching the drum beat on the news arguing for us to relinquish liberty for security?, a trade that would never be made by the likes of George Mason or Patrick Henry, none of this is "conservative" in nature, but is totally in sync with Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh.

We need Ron Paul to change the direction this is headed.    A vote for anyone else in either party is disaster.

How's that obscene profit break looking for you, Rush?

Neocons destruction of the Constitution

Mark Levin is parroted much on townhall by resident neocons.  So I finally listened to Levin on the way home to here this so called defender of liberty (that's a laugh).  Levin is a total arse.

Two links will promptly destroy neocons arguments on warpowers, and their King's quest for total war, and the faux belief they have cornered the market on conservatism. (another bad joke).
All constitutional arguments MUST deal with Louis Fisher:

Louis Fisher on War Powers
Reader's digest version of these arguments are found at Tom Wood's site:

Tom Woods destroy's neocons War Powers controversy

Then he decimates neocon Mark Levin's stupid and silly arguments

Neocons vs Liberals: A distinction without a difference

Big spending conservatives are arguably worse than liberals like Obama.  Confiscating the people's fruit of their labor for welfare spending at least occurs within US borders.  Confiscating the people's fruit of their labor for warfare spends the money abroad, and is purely destructive, and is unfruitful:

Often neocons complain about the war on poverty which has wasted trillions.  They should reconcile it with this study which has wasted both lives and trillions:

And then to compound problems, neocons should weigh the waste with the resultant fruit:

Welfare/Warfare: The Health and Well Being of the State.
