Twisted sick GOP, funds terrorist states

What a bunch of dolts.
Let's see, borrow money, pay back (maybe) with interest......to support terrorist states.  Like....its NOT enough we buy all their friggin' oil.

" The vote took place after the upper chamber came to an agreement on other votes, including Sen. Rand Paul’s (R-Ky.) bill to end foreign aid to Egypt, Libya, Pakistan and Yemen unless they met certain conditions......

Numerous Republican senators stood up in opposition to Paul’s bill, calling it dangerous and irresponsible, especially to Israel. But Paul said he believed the American people were on his side.

“They don’t want to vote for this because they know they’re voting against the will of their constituents,” Paul said Friday on the floor.

Republican Sens. Mike Crapo (Idaho), Jim DeMint (S.C.), Chuck Grassley (Iowa), Mike Lee (Utah), Jerry Moran (Kan.) Paul, James Risch (Idaho), Pat Roberts (Kan.), Richard Shelby (Ala.) and Pat Toomey (Pa.) voted for Paul's measure.

“Americans are crying out for us to stop giving out tax dollars to those who aren’t our friends,” DeMint said, after mentioning that Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) wouldn’t allow an amendment to Paul’s bill to loosen the language, which DeMint preferred and Paul agreed to."

and

So hear that TownHallers?,.....only 10 votes were made in favor of Rand Paul's bill to end foreign aid to a bunch of terrorist states.  One of the critics of Rand Paul's bill was none other than loser John McCain.

The GOP is the stupid party.

Neocons happy with Ryan as VP.

Guess war with Syria and Iran will still be on the table.....neocons are happy.

"Defense[sic]" Hawks placated

Hopefully, Ryan's belief that deficits are as big of a threat to our national security as Islam can help restrain Romney.  I'll start barfing, however when Ryan comes out as an obsequious little toady of Mitt Romney like Palin did to McCain.  We see how far that got Palin.

Oh, wait.....
Then there is this bit of political duplicity that makes Paul Ryan a perfect fit for the Romney campaign:

“Madame Speaker, This bill offends my principles, but I’m going to vote for this bill in order to preserve my principles, in order to preserve this free enterprise system…”

And hold on there Charlie Brown before Lucy yanks that football away....talk is cheap:   Ryan's ACTUAL record per this blog:

Paul Ryan’s voting record:

Paul Ryan on Bailouts and Government Stimuli:

-Voted YES on TARP
-Voted YES on Economic Stimulus HR 5140
-Voted YES on $15B bailout for GM and Chrysler.
-Voted YES on $192B additional anti-recession stimulus spending.

Paul Ryan on Entitlement Programs:

-Voted YES on limited prescription drug benefit for Medicare recipients.
-Voted YES on extending unemployment benefits from 39 weeks to 59 weeks.

Paul Ryan on Education:

-Voted YES on Head Start Act
-Voted YES on No Child Left Behind Act

Paul Ryan on Civil Liberties:

-Voted YES on federalizing rules for driver licenses to hinder terrorists.
-Voted YES on making the PATRIOT Act permanent.
-Voted YES on allowing electronic surveillance without a warrant.

Paul Ryan on War and Intervention Abroad:

-Voted YES on authorizing military force in Iraq.
-Voted YES on emergency $78B for war in Iraq & Afghanistan.
-Voted YES on declaring Iraq part of War on Terror with no exit date.
-Voted NO on redeploying US troops out of Iraq starting in 90 days.

And just for fun, we compare against a true conservative: Ron Paul.

Ron Paul’s voting record:

This is his voting record in accordance with Paul Ryan’s votes that are shown in this article:

Ron Paul on Bailouts and Government Stimuli:

-Voted NO on TARP
-Voted NO on Economic Stimulus HR 5140
-Voted NO on $15B bailout for GM and Chrysler
-Voted NO on $192B additional anti-recession stimulus spending

Ron Paul on Entitlement Programs:

-Voted NO on extending unemployment benefits from 39 weeks to 59 weeks.

Ron Paul on Education:

-Voted NO on Head Start Act
-Voted NO on No Child Left Behind Act

Ron Paul on Civil Liberties:

-Voted NO on federalizing rules for driver licenses to hinder terrorists.
-Voted NO on making the PATRIOT Act permanent.
-Voted NO on allowing electronic surveillance without a warrant.

Ron Paul on War and Intervention Abroad:

That ought to be a reality check!

Bernanke is a Failure

I've been preaching this since 2007; claiming Bernanke is a failure is stating the obvious.  Printing money to paper over deficits, and sustain over-priced asset prices that were bidded-up during the irrational real-estate boom is idiocy..  THers like "tinsldr" seem to think that government intervention is the solution, when it is patently obviously it is the cause of this "sluggish" economy.  Some THers thought that Bernanke (during Bush's regime) was the perfect person for the job since he was an expert on the Great Depression.

Now a Market Watch columnist is talking about the elephant in the room:

We are in a depression.
What?  A Depression?  You mean  Bernanke got it all wrong?  Well, DUH!

Moreover, I'm not a professional economist and I can tell that it ain't over....hell it hasn't even begun to unravel.  The sky will be falling...the realities of debt have not yet hit.... but it will be obvious when it does.  All one has to do to recognize it is watch either inflation or interest rates.    You know its over when yields or inflation exceed 10%.

With all the government intervention kicking the can down the road, it is difficult to anticipate when.  But with every government kick of the can, the pain the US and the world economy will have to endure becomes that much greater.    And yes Republicans, austerity will come to our military.  Awwww, shucks.

It is a sad thing that every year since about 2004, I have been planning what to do to survive.  Bush's policies, now Obama's policies, and soon to be Mitt Romney's policies (if he can win in November) have dictated my spending on things like.

I invested in gold and silver.
I moved from the city to the country.
I have bought food insurance.
I have taken firearms and weapons training.
I have bought firearms....I am armed.  Yes, I have ammunition.
I've turned off fox news.

I would have done none of these things if not for our politicians.   So while Obama squawks about a chicken in every pot, and Mitt Romney talks about peace in the Middle East at the point of a gun, rest assure, both these men are condemning the US to third world status, and the greatest destruction of wealth and power the world has ever seen.

Gary Bauer should be embarassed: GOP is the Israel Party

The doofuses that run our government do not have the interest of most Americans in mind, they have the interests in our 51st state, Israel.  Not only is Congress the lap dogs of Israel, Bill Kristol is proud of expunging all those liberty loving Ron Paul types.

“The big story in the Republican Party over the last 30 years, and I’m very  happy about this,” said Kristol, is the “eclipsing” of the George H.W.  Bush-James Baker-Brent Scowcroft realists, “an Arabist old-fashioned Republican  Party ... very concerned about relations with Arab states that were not friendly  with Israel ... .”

“Refuse to toe the neo-con line on Israel, and you have  no future in the Republican Party.”

That Bush crowd is yesterday, said Kristol. And not only had the “Arabists” like President Bush been shoved aside by the neocons, the “Pat Buchanan/Ron Paul  type” of Republican has been purged.

"Another source says Kristol predicted that Sen. Joe Lieberman, whose voting  record is closer to Socialist Bernie Sanders’ than to conservative Jim DeMint’s,  will be secretary of state in the Romney administration.

A former head of the Israel lobby AIPAC describes Lieberman as “the No. 1  pro-Israel advocate and leader in the Congress.”

Good riddance, GOP.  So...this is what passes for Christianity now, eh?  Why we have zionist lobbies like CUFI.  Its no wonder I feel more and more disgust toward the US government, and Churchianity which has lost its core focus: to seek and save the lost.  The new gospel is the protection and preservation of  Israel, at all cost (especially the life and treasure of Americans).  This will hasten rapture,  the start of millenial Kingdom, the reestablishment of sacrifices in a rebuilt temple, and armageddon in which 2/3rd of the Israelites will be destroyed.   I couldn't think of the bound Satan rejoicing over this new focus, which as Paul states, is not a gospel (hint: good news) at all.

Ahmadinejad: WMDs against Islam....

Oh, shucks....and here the neocon statists of the left and right (Read: Obama, Romney, Santorum, Liberman, McCain, Lindsey Graham, insert Dispensationalist Christian Name Here), are just chomping at the bit to find an excuse to go to war with Iran.

And here Ahmadinejad spells it out explicitly:

"Islam forbids atomic weapons and other arms of mass destruction, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad insisted on Wednesday ahead of his country's nuclear talks with world powers in Baghdad."

Now if Gary Bauer can only figure this out there is no need for pre-emptive war with Iran costing trillions, of treasure and thousands if not hundreds of thousands lives.   Iran is about as much of  a threat as Iraq was.

This might come as a surprise to the likes of Gary Bauer.

Ronald Reagan: Isolationist by todays GOP standard

One of my favorite true conservative columnists, Jack Hunter, takes on the stupid party, whose adoption and adherence to neoconservatism as a political philosophy will destroy the republican party....what else can you expect from what has become the (bankrupt) party of Bush, McCain, Romney, and Lindsey Graham.

Reagan: Isolationist

Afghan War going Badly

Michael Yon says its time to throw in the towel.  Will neocons like Hughie Hewitt or Gary Bauer agree?

In a post entitled "Time to Leave Afghanistan", he writes:

This war is going to turn out badly. We are wasting lives and resources while the United States decays and other threats emerge.  We led the horse to water.

Importantly, there is no value in pretending that Pakistan is an ally. We should wish the best of luck to the Afghans, and the many peaceful Pakistanis, and accelerate our withdrawal of our main battle force. The US never has been serious about Afghanistan. Under General Petraeus we were starting to gain ground, but the current trajectory will land us in the mud.

The enemies will never beat us in Afghanistan.  Force on force, the Taliban are weak by comparison.  Yet this is their home.  There is only so much we can do at this extreme cost for the many good Afghan people.  We must reduce our main effort and concentrate on other matters.  Time to come home.

Sincerely,

Michael Yon
